I know the title of this recipe is a mouthful, but it’s so fitting for this delicious breakfast!
Growing up this was my all time favorite breakfast. My mom would get up extra early and make it for my brother and I before school. (best mom ever!) And it’s only gotten better throughout the years.
It is stuffed with ricotta and jam, although if you only had cream cheese on hand, it’s just as yummy! You could even add some honey for extra sweetness.
On the outside, I like to add a little crunch. Nobody likes a soggy french toast! So I do a sort of “brûlée” by sprinkling brown sugar on the outside before cooking it. Then, the outside caramelizes on the pan and gives it great flavor and a contrast in texture. The perfect pair!
I topped mine with fresh raspberries and maple syrup - &oh my gosh was it divine! I served it to some friends I had visiting and they went nuts for it!
Here’s the recipe!
