There’s truly nothing better than homemade marshmallows -
I’ve been making my own marshmallows for years, but this year decided to put a little twist on them and add some peppermint! Safe to say, they did not disappoint. In fact, I’d venture to say they are even BETTER than normal!
The only special tool you need for these is a candy thermometer, otherwise, they are a breeze - and SO much better than store-bought!
Im a sucker for hot cocoa on a cold winter night, and these peppermint marshmallows compliment the chocolate flavor so well I couldn’t help but keep adding them to my drink! Depending on how minty you want them, you can play around with the peppermint extract! I added just over 1/2 teaspoon to mine and thought they were perfect.
As for the beautiful red swirl, thats just red food coloring! I swirled in a bit before pouring them into the pans, then using a knife, made some more swirls. It was so much fun to cut in to, because every one was prettier than the next.
I hope you enjoy!
